Photo Friday on Saturday: Me!

I've been running about a day behind all week, so why should this be any different.

Anyhow, I've been bugging my darling husband to do a new headshot of me since summer. He's a terrific photographer, but like the cobbler's children who have no shoes, I fall victim to his busy schedule.

So last week, I picked up a new trinket at the camera shop. It's a wireless shutter release for the Nikon. The other evening, I decided to try it out and be my own photographer.

This is the result. Do-it-yourself portraiture.

I came over from Eileen's blog. Great photo. I might need to do that. My problem? My smile. It's HUMONGOSOIDE. I think I made up that word. Anyway, I don't like head shots because of it.

I am really interested in you, because you write mysteries, don't you? I am starting a YA mystery. And preparing to query my MG adventure in February. *fingers crossed*

Have a super weekend. (^_^)

Nice photo! Sometimes it's just better to do it yourself :)

It's a great photo, but then the "old" one was good too. You are just very photogenic. :)

What a great picture. I wish I look as good in my photograph. I'm better behind the camera than in front.

Thanks, everyone!

Robyn, humongosoide? Hmm. That's an interesting one. But I think none of us likes photos of ourselves. We only see the flaws. I know I do. Good luck with the YA mystery. And the querying. Definitely crossing fingers for you.

Joyce, thank you so much, darhling.

Jemi, yes. Especially since DH and I get to bickering over poses and backgrounds and I end up looking like I'm clenching my teeth because I AM!

Mason, you're sweet. But I am NOT photogenic. You have no idea how many shots I wasted to get one that didn't make me want to weep. Thank goodness for digital!

Jamara, see above comments about everyone only seeing their own flaws. And I much prefer to be behind the lens, too.

Lovely pic, Annette. I try not to let anyone get too close with a decent camera. My headshots were taken with the built-in camera on my Mac. Flatteringly blurry. :)
